One of the best line up for BAPE I’ve seen in years. Following A Bathing Ape’s sale to fashion giant I.T. comes this surprisingly clean and rather sophisticated collection for BAPE Spring/Summer 2012. I am definitely feeling the camo peacoat, definitely copable specially if it comes out in black. I have to admit that the takeover of I.T. got me worried about the faith of the Japanese street wear legend but this is just proving how better Nigo works without all the hustle and bustle of corporate duties.

KAWS – “KAWSBOB Enters The Strange Forest” Painting | Sold For A Record High $188,500 At Charity Auction
After a 3-day long showing at Gagosian Gallery, the Tohoku-Pacific Earthquake Benefit Auction went underway this morning at Christie’s New York headquarters. With actor Ken Watanabe presiding, the 20 works of art sold briskly in the matter of few hours. By the time the final gravel fell, the auction generated a total of $8.7 million. What’s more, “KAWSBOB Enters The Strange Forest”, a 60-inch in diameter acrylic on canvas by artist KAWS, fetched a whopping price of $188,500! A additional $140,000 more than the highest estimate price and a new record price for the artist’s work. Congratulation to all who participated.

Though not a completely rockable collection, I like how experimentive and creative Nigo got with his designs. Leaving his T-shirt silkscreen comfort zone and moving into a more.. couture direction.

I love this! The camo is stylish and subtle a perfect blend that is rarely achieved by the two iconic Japanese brands. Don’t get me wrong they always make great stuff but if you want something that is well designed but not too loud then these are a must cop.
